Pregnancy over 40

Currently, i am 42 years young. I have never been pregnant and spent years of unsuccessful fertility treatments; to be let down time after time. It started taking a toll on my body and wearing me down.

My husband and i turned to adoption. We are the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy that will be three in a few months. We've had him since he was not quite 5 months old.

We'd love to adopt a sibling for him; but with the unfortunate economy it makes it a little rough. Adoption can be very expensive.

I gave up on the idea of getting pregnant or of even trying after so many disappointments. Needless to say - it's been a long 9, 10 months or so that my poor husband has been without.
Yes, that is pretty personal - but the point i'm trying to make is that - after trying so many times and being disappointed - you come to a point where you just don't care anymore.

I have made a decision to once again try though. If it's my last chance to try and get pregnant than i owe it to myself to try again. I'm not getting any younger and the odds have already been stacked against me with having PCOS, being morbidly overweight and being over 40.

I read about a herb called Chasteberry. I'm going to purchase some of that and give it a try. It's suppose to help regulate menstruation, help with ovulation, hot flashes, depression and is also a antioxidant.

Many doctors try to discourage women from getting pregnant after 40. If your in good health - and everything is still working - it shouldn't matter what your age is.

Wish me luck!

Ear Infections

I have a toddler that will be three in a few months and he has experienced ear infection after ear infection. When, he was a year old - we had to have tubes put in his ears. That was a frightening thought to me - that my little guy was gonna have to go thru surgery. The surgeon was great and the procedure was quick. There wasn't really any down time for him either. The scariest part of it was waking up groggy not knowing where he was. We were advised the tubes would fall out on their own in about 6 months. That they did!

The ear infections started reoccurring once again. Back on antibiotics! Missing work! Still having to pay for daycare; even when he wasn't there.

So, back to the ENT doctor. Once again, surgery was scheduled. He would have to have his second set of tubes. This time the tubes were a little bit bigger and would last up to two years.

Well, once again - my son has an ear infection. The worst one he has ever had. Lots of drainage just seeping out of his ear; with ear pain. Took him to the pediatrician - who advised me his tubes were working and that he'd be worse off without them. Also, prescribed ear drops, Augmentin and Tylenol w/Codeine for the pain.

It seems to me - he's still in the same misery he was with or without the tubes.

What is your opinion? Do you have any home remedies you use?

The Meaning behind the name

I'm always looking for new projects to do via the internet. I heard about "mommy blogging" and looked it up and wanted to see what the buzz was about. I came to realization that i already do that, but i do it "just because".

The meaning behind my blog name is simple. I am a mom and i am large. See, simple!

Honestly though, i wanted to write about everyday experiences; along with my experiences of being a very overweight individual. I feel it is important to talk about my experiences so that others that can relate don't feel like they are alone.

I will touch some of those topics in later posts.

Welcome to My New Blog

Welcome to my new blog experiment. For those of you that do not know me - my name is Kelly.

I previously have been blogging for a few years now; just on a personal level with family and friends.

I have decided to pursue my blogging in a different direction; while still sharing my personal interests, opinions and experiences - but expanding it to share with whomever wants to read about it!

I am open to opinions, comments, critiscism and ideas. (Maybe not so much criticism) lol

Happy Reading!
